In a recent conversation I had with a Texan, I heard the Civil War referred to as "the war of northern aggression." It was said with sincerity, but a slight veil of embarrassment. Sadly, I think a lot of people from your homeland feel this way.

I've heard very old people and actual neo-confederates call it that, but it isn't common.
