I usually end up messing around with my phone during down time at work, killing time waiting for things etc and while there is an app on the store (I use Android) all it allows you to do is read posts. I was just curious if anyone knew if there was going to ever be a official app put out where you can login, browse and post from mobile.
So I bookmark the regular hubski site on the home screen and then I use that. It actually works pretty well. I made this comment from my phone. I made 12 out of the last 20 comments from my phone. If you have any advice on how to make it better, let me know and I'll throw it into the CSS. At this point, that's all that is going to be coming from Hubski Official. First step is get our API working. It's on its way. Second step is someone else builds an app. We have enough on our plates to maintain two code bases. :)
The only issue I have is with the search function. It doesnt seem to recognise my phones keyboard input and "enter", so I cant search on mobile for tags etc. For reference Im using a Galaxy Note 3 with stock keyboard. (Id also take any reccomendations for a better keyboard to use :) )
I use SwiftKey and it works well. I'll redo the search box, although using the enter key on your keyboard should send it through.
Hubski mobile is beautiful. It's pretty much all I use.
It is pretty but I still prefer just opening an app over having to navigate to the site every time.
On the bright side the mobile site works really well. The reason a reddit app was so important was because the mobile site was horrendous.
There is a mobile site? What's it look like. I never use mobile sites on my phone so even the reddit mobile site was only opened once or twice!
Here's a screenshot. They recently changed it though, it used to be a lot uglier. It's still super slow and buggy.
The app is pretty cool. Get the latest version of app is available for free on Vshare app store. Download it from http://vshareappmarket.com
Edit: Ahh, didn't read close enough. Missed the part where you said you couldn't post! An app may come in handy for that!
I don't really see the need for one personally. It loads beautifully on chrome for android. In fact is the only way I have ever seen hubski as I have no access to a computer until the 30th or so. I can see where it would be nice to just click the app I just, and this is a personal opinion, don't think an app is needed when the site already runs and looks as sleek as it does on mobile internet.
I really hope so. I can definitely see myself spending more time with hubski on a proper phone app. I think the text heavy nature of hubski makes it really ideal for the types of use cases you described.
