Clickbait. When they talk about AI, I expect more than a few twists of an image. I must be spoiled by Person of Interest, but there are so many more interesting aspects to an AI than the silly results of DeepDream.

I see this kind of thing as all in good fun. I really enjoy stuff like this or LSTM "recipe generators" much more than overhyped "real research" like the recent "IQ test" (Embeddings can solve analogical reasoning tests with vector arithmetic! This would have been shocking in 1997!)

Here's a fragment of reddit: I see something cool and go to the comments so that somebody can tell me it's wrong or stupid. I hadn't heard of DeepDream before this, and I'm glad I learned about it. The title of the article might be clickbait, but the content was pretty neat.
