I hate science reporting. The paper: http://www.researchgate.net/publication/266799418_PREDICTION_OF_SOLAR_ACTIVITY_FROM_SOLAR_BACKGROUND_MAGNETIC_FIELD_VARIATIONS_IN_CYCLES_21-23 I have observed that 'weather', 'cold', 'winter', and 'ice' do not appear in the paper. It took me a while to find the exact paper, these blood reporters should cite the sources of their made up stuff.
That's a really well written paper. Thank you for finding it. It uses physics, to describe a mathematical model, that is then fit via statistics to describe solar activity of sunspots. The model is then predictive for future activity. The technique and science in the paper is solid, I enjoyed reading it.
Meanwhile in the paper linked to by madebyjeffry Solar activity will fall by 60 per cent as two waves of fluid "effectively cancel each other out", according to Prof Valentina Zharkova.
we predict a noticeable decrease of the average sunspot numbers in cycle 25 to ≈ 80% of that in cycle 24 and a decrease in cycle 26 to ≈ 40%
