I'd be surprised if there were real fundamental flaws - these are top scholars at an R1 institution. And they must have known that there was blowback coming.

You may recall that it took a lot of scholars a long time to pick apart Murray/Hernstein's "Bell Curve." That may have been the most peer reviewed book in the last 20 years. :-) And in the end, AFAICR, they had some issued with data analysis that was the core of the book, but mostly it stood.

It may not be a flawed study, but the fact that it came from a well respected institution isn't a reason to believe so. Top research institutions have brought us tons of bullshit ideas over the years.
