Acid-free obviously, but what are the preferences for weight, color, and any other options? I'm trying to design notebooks that will work well with them.
Kokuyo's Campus notebooks have my favorite paper for writing, followed by Staple's Sustainable Earth sugar cane paper line, followed by Rhodia's notebooks. Generally speaking, I like: - A5 or B5 pages - that are light weight, and smooth in texture - and slightly off white - while lightly or not at all ruled - and where ink tends to sit on top of the page, not soaking in. (This both because it combats bleed through, and I think the resulting shading is prettier. Probably not a good idea for lefties.) If you want a rabbit hole to root around in for ideas on what to use, I'd checkout Fountain Pen Network.
Thanks for the reply. I've actually stopped making notebooks, at least for a while, but I've been meaning to pick up some Rhodias for a while now. All the ones I've seen though seem to just be bound with staples. Are all of them like that, or should I be able to find more durable binding somewhere? Edit: Wow, you also made me realize how long I've been been here. Didn't think I could have a post over 200 days old.
