Cognitive Science. I study how people process and produce language, specifically in multiword expressions. Good luck with IB and microbiology!! When you get to college don't be afraid to approach professors to get involved in research right away. You want to start getting experience right away. And don't forget to have fun! College flies by so incredibly fast...
That seems super interesting - are you doing a specific project/researching a specific thing? Akso thanks.
Right now I'm working on two experiments that test whether people store sequences of longer than one word in long-term memory. My undergrad thesis work suggests they do! Now I'm looking into how people use these multi-word representations during processing -- are they favored over single-word representations in highly frequent expressions, how do people form these representations in the first place, etc? I think my PhD dissertation work will focus a lot on mechanism rather than representation, but that might change. No problem. And seriously, congrats on making it this far -- I read a bit through your history and you've come a long way with your health problems and everything.
Thank you! Also, share the dissertation when done, seriously do it. The science world is amazing. Apperently there is such a thing a "sexy son hypothesis"
