We've done this almost every night for the last month. Normally, the berries have dried up by now, but with the crazy rain here in the east, it's been a berry smorgasbord on our hikes.
It's awesome. Where we are, the blackberries are just starting to ripen and they are going to be huge and plentiful. About a three weeks ago though, the black raspberries were ripe and for 3 days we gathered a record number of them. I love when you are hiking and out of nowhere come across the motherload! We had to go back to the car at one point to scrounge up some containers. I do think the heavy rain made a huge difference this year.
