I was offered a job today. Was absolutely terrified applying for it... I had convinced myself that I was never going to get back into hospitality. Can't stand the hours, can't deal with the terrible pay etc... But desperate times... Turns out that it's the most amazing hospitality gig ever. Mon-Fri 8-4.30 (I get to keep my weekends?!?!) and remuneration decent enough to let me afford an apartment. I can finally move out of my parents house! :D Boss is a great guy and I like all of the employees... I don't know what I've done to deserve such a sweet gig!
That's awesome man. I'm glad to hear it! Hopefully you weren't job hunting for too long. Can I offer one bit of unsolicited advice? Talk with your parents to see if you can't hang around for just a bit longer, even offer to pay a little rent or utilities. That way, you can build yourself a little safety net and at the same time make sure that the job you got is secure. In times like these, those extra few months of security could make all the difference in the world.I can finally move out of my parents house!
Thanks! Honestly it was amazing. Dropped in for a chat with the owner and he offered the job almost immediately... Haven't been searching for too long, but I've been relying on my tax return to get by :P I don't have any immediate plans to move out. At the moment, my savings is basically non-existent. I'm paying a small amount of board already and I know that it's going to be a whole other ball game when I eventually take the plunge! But it's always good to have the advice reiterated!
