I don't allow myself to use the word anymore

I'm about to that point myself. I can tell I'm starting to sound like a broken record to the people around me.

I wasn't getting very good feedback. It wasn't that people weren't listening, I just kept using a buzzword, that they were not that familiar with. The concept is way too expansive for that.

If I'm outside with someone interested, it leads to running around explaining things. Sometimes I start model building.

I agree. It's way to jargon-y for many people. I tend to lead in particular aspects that sound technical, and not too "out there" such as agroforestry or integrated pest management or ecosystem mimicry or even just sustainable agriculture.

Yeah, that list is even too short, passive solar, passive rainwater havesting, zonation, natural building, stacking functions, calculating embodied energy, using the edge, patterning, aquaculture and ect..

I am a fanatic, so I don't see any of it as unscientific, or out there.

Kids get the most out of making models. I got in trouble with my cousins wife, because the boys got muddy. Always ask for permission, before adding water to a demonstration. LOL.
