This happened about 100 yards/meters away from my former home. "My neighborhood." I knew all the shop owners/managers. Spent my money locally. The local shops would stock the things I liked. And then it was invaded by thousands of protesters and many on-lookers. It is a busy hood so we had had invasions by squeegee kids and others before but this was on a crazy scale.
It was difficult to even get into that entire part of the city when the G20 summit was taking place. I do not agree with all of the agendas of the protesting groups and certainly not all of their tactics but the governmental response was overwhelmingly inappropriate. That included indiscriminate kettling just to the right at that corner which entrapped many innocent people, including almost me, that ended up literally in chain link cages for the night.
Officer Bubbles was my favorite bad cop at the time. He later went on to sue 25 Youtubers. To be fair, unlike most cops, Officer Josephs did assist in the subsequent inquiry into tactics involved..
I really do not have a point. But I was disappointed in how both sides acted and reacted during this period. And I saw this pic and it got me going. :)
