- Test your knowledge of science facts and applications of scientific principles by taking our short 12-question quiz. Then see how you did in comparison with a nationally representative group of 3,278 randomly selected U.S. adults surveyed online and by mail between Aug. 11 and Sept. 3, 2014 as members of the Pew Research Center’s American Trends Panel.
Regarding my results, I'll just say: fuckin' cell phones.
Well, this is awesome. I've gotten 12/12. IVY LEAGUE HERE I COME (Seriously though - if these are scientific questions people struggle with, I seriously worry about the general scientific knowledge of people. These were very basic questions...) EDIT: Just looked at the numbers. This makes me so sad, the picture it paints.
The same quiz a few days ago was rolled into something NPR-related that tng posted. Two of the answers to question #2 (cell phone signals) were "light waves" and "radio waves". Now they've appended it to say "visible light waves", as it should. Radio waves are certainly included under the broad spectrum of "light waves", but not in the narrow-band of "visible light". And I know you know this, 'bl00. Just doin' some record keeping.
Missed the question about Denver and LA, oops. Apparently it's a common one to miss since they specifically address it below the results...Did you miss the boiling water question? We explain the science behind the correct answer.
