I was just at a hiring event there. They stressed, over and over, how much effort they put into their hiring. This was because apparently anyone can check into the main repo after a code review from one other person. So if you hire two clueless people, it's enough to take down their main branch. Totally crazy.
Really interesting. I work at a small startup, and it's not uncommon to appeal to Facebook's move-fast-and-break-things early ideology to make or guide a decision. Maybe that didn't cause any code quality issues early on, but apparently it doesn't scale that gracefully for them!
