This makes for a very interesting story. Whether it's true or not, and I doubt it is, it would not have been a crazy strategy. Gangster rap has provided endless inspiration for violence and the self-destruction of urban society.

A lot of gangster rap has good grooves, and sometimes witty lyrics, but the glorification of gangs and violence against women is total bullshit. IMO if you are serious about gangster rap, you are a tool. I guess that's the moral of this story, anyway.

I am reading this story as myth. The premise that the police state does not want you to follow the law because crime is how they make their money / maintain control is intriguing.

Bitch, shut the fuck up; get the fuck outta here.

Sorry, my gut reaction in always with Eazy-E. Speaking of, NWA was very popular before this meeting was to have taken place. But I agree that its a cool read, true or false.

CA is the worst for prisons. They are so overcrowded that they co-opted a prison in MI that was slated to be closed. They now ship some lifers to Northern MI, and I would have to imagine other states, too. Crime keeps falling, and the incarceration rate keeps climbing. Explain that; I know I'll never figure it out. One would think that as the number of criminals dwindles, so too would the number of individuals sent to prison. Thanks to the ultra criminalization of drugs, we will always have a hefty stream of "criminals" to take care of.
