...but then, who on the right with money isn't?
Well, the article makes no mention of when the money was supplied or the refinery built. Until 1938-39, the Nazi rhetoric was disturbing but they were also lifting the Germany out of one of the worst depressions in history. The US wasn't exactly economically seperated from Germany. 'Give Hitler some of what he wants, and he might actually pay back the money we want.' Plus, giving money or resources doesn't necessarily equate to supporting political philosophy. The US gave the Soviets wheat throughout the Cold War, but that doesn't make all of the farmers who supplied it, politicians who arranged it, or bureaucrats who ran it Soviet sympathizers. The John Birch Society the family is also apparently tied to is avowedly anti-totalitarian.
