Well then, I must remember to get a moka pot. Aside from the stimulating effect, it'll stave off Alzheimer's. Brilliant.

I must say, tea is still my main hot beverage. Milder in taste and effect, and better for biscuit-dunking.

Thomas de Quincey on tea:

"From the latter weeks of October to Christmas Eve, therefore, is the period during which happiness is in season, which, in my judgment, enters the room with the tea-tray; for tea, though ridiculed by those who are naturally of coarse nerves, or are become so from wine-drinking, and are not susceptible of influence from so refined a stimulant, will always be the favourite beverage of the intellectual"

Nice quote, but I would argue that Cognac is the beverage of the intellectual. Opens your mind way more than tea.

Ah, but tea does not intoxicate.
