It does drastically lower the bar for damaging a plane. I expect that it won't be long before commercial aircraft have anti-drone armaments.

I wouldn't be surprised if engine manufacturers start throwing in drones just like they trow dead birds into their engines. The rest of the plane should be fine, I think.

As long as the drone doesn't have an explosive payload. I think that's the real worry.

Seems like such an edge case though. Retrofitting most aircraft with protection against that is unjustifiably expensive, I think. kleinbl00, any thoughts?

Except, yeah it is. Because the private sector would be paying for it. And they won't.
