Television shows, in moderation, can be wonderful. I don't have HBO or any interest in Game of Thrones, but it's great to see that so many people out there enjoy it along with programs like Breaking Bad, Daredevil, and The Walking Dead. They're our generation's M.A.S.H. and Happy Days.

I recently gave up cable, I think it's been about two or three weeks now, and I don't miss it other than no longer having Cartoon Network or Turner Classic Movies on whenever I want. On the upside, the antenna I have picks up a bunch of re-run channels and on my days off, when I'm cleaning around the house or just screwing around on the internet, in the background everything from I Dream of Genie to Chips to Nightcourt will be playing on in the background. It's good fun. Between the Antenna, Hulu, and Netflix, I don't miss cable much at all. Though, twice now I've gone to check TCM's Program Schedule only to immediately realize that it's no longer an option. Both times I felt a twinge of sadness.

Sharing your comment just for that part. I didn't like The Walking Dead personally, but the other two - I agree that they're great and deserve to survive for the next generations.

Obviously my post was somewhat facetious.

But I know what you mean. We cut the cord last fall and haven't looked back. Everything's streaming now (or at least everything worth watching), and we haven't had to sit through a commercial break in months. Especially now that my daughter has started enjoying cartoons, I'm doubly glad for that.
