What did you use to cut it?

My house has a brick façade, and tiny 1950's windows. I've been wondering what it'd take to cut the brick downward and put in full-height windows.

We used a rented hand-held wall saw, this one:

Then we removed the grouting (I'm not sure that's the right word for it) between the bricks with a breaker hammer.

The second layer of bricks was thinner, so I punched it out with a hammer.

ooh. I always thought that expression was needlessly violent.
