I think this is the problem. For confirmation, I looked at the source (pastebin) for this rendered page, and the first example shows them all on separate lines with no format tags separating them other than regular line breaks, and the second example is separated by <p>aragraph tags.

Yes, exactly. HTML processing has imposed this on us all, in many places; totally not unique to hubski. I imagine it might be difficult to 'fix', because most likely, these text boxes are a widget that mk (or whoever) simply invokes. Changing the behaviour of the widget might not be straightforward.
