I am new to this site and noticed a great amount of posts related to K. Marx and his writings. Is there any specific reason or people here just like him/his theories?
I think it's just that it's interesting to look at critiques of political systems. Adam Smith doesn't have the same name brand when it comes to Capitalism that Marx does when it comes to Communism, so it's easier to see posts about marx and communism more generally. I find it interesting, personally, to see how different the modern day conceptions of these two schools of thought are from their origins, and how they contrast with the views of their originators.
That is, indeed, interesting. I think a great deal of these divergences can be traced to how capitalism (and, to some extent, communism) developed after WWII and during the Cold War -- especially after 1970's. Another factor worth noting, is how Marx is so strongly associated to capitalism (despite his critiques and propositions) to the point that even A. Smith sometimes gets overlooked haha.
Hi! Welcome to the site. If you haven't already, consider reading the Hubski Primer as it will explain the basics of the site. I also recommend going through the Badges page, or filtering your feed by 'posts with lots of upwheels' which you can do in the top right corner, below the header. Where do you see the abundance of Marx posts? There are three #marx posts made in the last day, all by one user. I wouldn't call that a great amount. That said I do think that Hubski is leaning quite to the left when it comes to US politics.
Oh, thanks for the tips. I haven't checked 'badges' yet. I'll make sure to read Hubski primer too. Many thanks. And I saw the posts about Marx not on #marx, but spread over other tags I was browsing. Some of them were about The Capital, others about his teachings. I don't really mind it, I was just curious.
