Let's hope he follows through with this promise, and let's hope it works out well. All too often the end results of a revolution is a period of tumult and a new dictator replacing the old one.

    After 30 years of fighting with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, a region both countries claim, he has said he will make the enclave part of Armenia.

Now this is a bit worrying. Azerbaijan probably won't accept this, and the worst case scenario is a bloody war. It might be wiser to instead support the independence and international recognition of the Republic of Artsakh, and when/if that's successful, let the people of Nagorno-Karabakh decide for themselves if they want to be independent or part of Armenia.

I shared this as a noteworthy change of pace, I don't think this guy is any more a competent leader than the previous one. But idealism is a valuable trait for Armenian people right now.
