Good read! I wonder if there are chemical factors to ego depletion that could be combatted by a supplement. Sounds like a good thesis for a cogsci or medical student.
If practice can improve it, I am sure there are. Actually, wonder if Ritalin works this way for treatment of ADHD. Wikipedia says: "It produces such effects as increasing or maintaining alertness, combating fatigue, and improving attention."
