The decisions are coming out right now, so I'll update this post once they're done.
Gerrymandering is now endorsed for all States. The Supreme Court has decided that the individual has no right for their vote to be counted. Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have done their sworn duty to the Republican party, and have ensured that the minority in key States will always have dominion over the majority.
Except for the fact that one of the challenges in this case was by Republicans against district lines drawn in Maryland, arguing that the districting there unfairly disadvantaged Republicans.Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have done their sworn duty to the Republican party...
That's why this case is so perfect for them... it's a city and state they don't need. They key redistricting that they won, were in battleground states, where they have specifically disenfranchised the majority of voters, and have given the minority the rule AND the state.
Maybe, although I think it's just that battelground states are the only places where it does any good to gerrymander (meaning it wouldn't have taken a larger plan to get the same results). I will say, the other reason I'm less upset about this decision, is that entrenching the two-party system that much further into constitutional law would have made getting away from it that much harder.
