kinda missed opportunity to revist the Hitchhik-oh well. Let's read Ursula K. Le Guin's novel The Dispossessed!
- Shevek, a brilliant physicist, decides to take action. He will seek answers, question the unquestionable, and attempt to tear down the walls of hatred that have isolated his planet of anarchists from the rest of the civilized universe. To do this dangerous task will mean giving up his family and possibly his life—Shevek must make the unprecedented journey to the utopian mother planet, Urras, to challenge the complex structures of life and living, and ignite the fires of change.
After the beautiful post on Le Guin from the other day, I was reminded that I hadn't read fiction in a year, sci-fi for longer than that. The Dispossessed piqued my interest after ilex mentioned it in Pubski. Won a Hugo and a few other prizes. And it was part of a curated sci-fi sale, which also helps.
It's not the thinnest, so let's give it two months? Tagging people who recently updooted scifi club posts:

I've been meaning to read something of hers for the longest time, but never quite managed to start. Thanks for this random kick up the backside. I'm usually pretty strict about reading series in published order but since I've stubbornly failed to ever read one of her novels, what the hell. I'm not even nervous.
Are the books independent enough to read them in that order? Or do you think it would spoil the experience if I continued? I'm really intrigued by the approach.
