I love the incredible drama from both sides. Its like a popcorn truck tipped over and exploded everywhere. There's nothing of value being contributed by either side of the argument here. Its just pure, amazing drama. Nobody is being rational or constructive, nothing. I feel like we're in a high school cafeteria watching the two white girls who have one black friend and try to act ghetto have a slap fight about something we don't understand.
Yeah that disappointed me I just discovered this place, thinking I found an alternative to reddit then I see laurelai. Well it doesn't matter this place has potential.
u/violentacrez is gone?! Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I gather, Adrian Chen of Gawker was going to release violentacrez's identity in an article. Apparently, Chen is threatening DMCA takedowns for Reddit links to his blog. IMO Chen should take issue with Reddit long before he goes after a user.
Indeed, apparently VA deleted his twitter and facebook accounts as well. And I'm pretty sure Chen has long taken issue with reddit, this is just the latest in his efforts. e: also, I love some of the headlines of pieces writing about this: Redditors Stand Up to Gawker to Protect Child Pornography. Reddit blocks Gawker in defence of its right to be really, really creepy A bit sensationalized and link-baity, but funny none-the-less.
I believe that he has a Hubsk account. However, I'm not sure how we might verify it, or that he would like to. But, it would be interesting to get his side of the story. I don't know... Chen most definitely would be doing serious damage to him, regardless of whether he had deserved any of it or not. I'm just not ok with that.
FYI, VA clarified a bit more in one of the moderator only subreddits. Gist of it is, he wasn't blackmailed, he doesn't know how Chen got his information, and he's leaving because the admins of reddit "support" (read haven't removed) SRS. It'll be interesting to see what's actually in Chen's piece, whether it's private information or just a profile on an infamous troll, as Chen said in his emails.
