Favourite video game? Hard to say. I think one of them has to be Red Dead Redemption, that game is terrific in every aspect. I might follow that with one of the Halo series, I have a special place in my heart for that game as Halo: Combat Evolved was the first game I ever owned. Although I like multiplayer, I say a good singleplayer campaign is better than any online multiplayer play. If a game has replay value, and a finely crafted single player experience, I say it wins hands down. I recently finished Dishonored, thoroughly enjoyed it (though it was cheesy at times). But in terms of gameplay, can't wait to play through it again. Same goes for Portal (both 1 and 2) - perfect game! Onto TF2: Don't worry! It's a fast paced game and really hard to pick up at the start. I'd advise starting as the Soldier class, it's just jump around, run, aim, shoot, repeat. After you get the hang of that and manage at least a 1:1 kill / death ratio per life start messing around with other classes. You'll soon find one for you! Also: Play it often. Nobody gets good at something in a day, and although with games it can seem different because of tutorials, the TF2 tutorial and online play are so different it's impossible to be ready straight away without time playing online!
I have to say, the Halo series is my favorite, hands down. First game I ever owned was Halo: Combat Evolved. I prefer multiplayer over campaigns and such, although it may just be the kind of person that I am. I'll play through it for the achievements, then I'm done. Same with books, I can never buy a book because no matter how much I love it, reading it twice isn't an option. I just play through the whole book in my head as soon as I start reading and ruin the experience for myself. I guess you could say I'm always looking for a new thrill. TF2 is a pain in the butt to learn. I personally don't like the controls much, specifically, switching your weapon. The scroll thingy would have been fine if you didn't have to click afterwards, but I always forget to click. I would much rather prefer something like Minecraft's scroll to choose or how you can choose a number 1-9 and it will choose the corresponding item on your hotbar. Thanks for the tips by the way, I just recently got destroyed in a game, but I did better than before went something like 6 and 15. >.< I swear I'll do better one day.
Go into options and enable fast weapon switching, and you won't have to bother with the clicking. Also, try playing as Medic - it's fairly simple, you'll learn a lot by watching others, and it's a very helpful class most of the time.
That makes perfect sense! I know with a lot of games it's like that, but a perfectly crafted singleplayer can make me replay it again and again! Ah, you get used to it. Got my ass kicked so much at the start, was getting about 1 kill to every 10 deaths or something. I sucked. Now I can come out with a positive kill/death ratio... most the time! You get used to the system of scrolling too, just takes practice man!
I hate having to actually work. Can't I play some COD and just spray?
Yea, well, I just got destroyed playing TF2, "practicing". But anyways, thanks, I still have no idea how to play, but at least I'm getting somewhere.
Ah, you'll get better even if it is infuriating! Join the Hubski Steam Group, and once I fix my shitty laptop I'll play with you some time! I'm down as MadreDios there too.
Already joined. Although it's stupid that I can't add friends unless I buy something. Guess this is my chance to buy Portal.
Turns out that I can't add friends, but I can accept them. Somewhat better I guess.
