Never really thought about a world in which the App Store replaces Google, but that's probably why I'm not a Google executive! Good article!

Yeah, I thought it was pretty interesting. I'm in two minds about Google taking over the world. I like it because they do things the way I would do it, and they do what they do well. The problem is, they have access to all our stuff - emails, blog entries, social media/networking, search history and trends... I mean, it helps them develop things we need and want, but its scary how much info they have on us.

I have never found it that scary, but I also don't have any world-changing secrets. I always wonder what other people's privacy holds that they think Google would be interested. Obviously it's just a principles thing, but I suppose it's just not one of my principles!

The only reason I would not give the world to Google is because variation is stronger than homogeneity, and I'd hate to see them become a dictator or accidentally destroy every banking platform at once.

This is the very reason I'm giving Bing a try. I think I like Google better for most things, but I don't really want to live in a world with ONE right answer to every question. Variation in the spice of life.
