Generally, as far as changing the world in a meaningful way, I feel rather apathetic. The whole class struggle and the corporate plutocracy is very much bothersome to me, yet with the government watching every action (i.e. logging every online action for future looking into, if need be) is rather intimidating. Also with the recent news of the efforts the Gov, and the banks took to shut down OWS a month before it even started and had no idea it was going to blow up. How to affect change? Does this make me a coward?
Is there a way to effect change without being noticed by the eye in the sky? I'm pretty much convinced sticking my head out of the foxhole will result in me getting plucked for whatever illicit activity they want to get me on, yet, looking around I feel awful if i cannot help institute change because, dammit, shits fucked up.
What I'm saying is, is there a middle ground?

since you asked, here are some thoughts:
1) Do you live in a particularly repressive society where there are no human rights? If not, you might be letting fears of an unknown future control your present.
2) The world is too damn big to take it all on - but find something you feel is important and join their activist group or start a group. It takes one person to have an idea, but you need two to form a committee and call a meeting. Plus it's way more fun if you work with others -- if you can find ones who share your goals and concerns and are willing to get up from behind the computer and actually do something.
Is there a middle ground?
absolutely, but also change takes time. For example in 1848 women and men created the declaration of sentiments which was essentially a list of grievances regarding the treatment of women in the USA. It took over a hundred years, but those grievances have all been remedied. There are still problems, but imagine if the women in 1848 had said, nah, no way, what's the point.
Thanks for the thoughtful reply, I'll be considering this.
Well I think it all depends on the kind of revolution you want to do, I am assuming you're talking about the kind of revolution, against government, companies, or even even criminals that have the power to do harm to the community, world, etc. I think the best way to start a revolution is by getting power, to have people believe in you, and make them think what you think is good for you, will be good for them, went that time comes you start taking action as the leader of a hide organization start going viral against the company or government showing everyone what they are doing reaching more people.
