I'm wondering what impact Internet vigilantes are likely to have on the criminal justice system in coming years. Few could argue that we'd be better off allowing a football-fetishizing town to interfere with the prosecution of gang rapists, but could there be future unintended consequences to demanding justice via publicity and "hacking?" (Note: I see no evidence that any "hacking" actually occurred here.)
