...I blocked #reddit so I wouldn't see this sort of blather. Now it's under a new tag, #meta... What on earth do I have to do to just escape all this talk on reddit.

Yes, reddit rocked back in the day. It's still cool, but it just changed, that's all. My lesson is that no matter what social platform you go on, you will inevitably leave it for a new place, with a new culture and atmosphere. Maybe it will have some similarities, but it will hopefully take on its own form. Then this place will also inevitably outgrow you and you'll just move on to the next semi-obscure social news aggregation site.

The next lesson is that no matter what, ex-users will overly hate on the past site for its popularity and shift in userbase/culture, while simultaneously turning their new home into their last home. It's a never ending cycle.

Now I'm blocking #meta too. Fuck.
