I saw this in HN, and figured it belonged in Hubski. It is the story of a Russian family who fleeing persecution, migrated deep into tundra, and was cut off from human contact for 40 years, until rediscovered in 1970's.

I have such a weird boner for isoloation stories. People who were cut off or kids that were so sheltered. It's fascinates me endlessly.

I would never be able to do such a thing, to live in isolation for so long, that is, I think, a desire to live that most people do not possess. It's incredibly interesting to think of how limited of a diet they lived, and how there is no room for recreation or fun in such a life.
