I've read about some of the priming studies and this seems kind of similar. Does anybody here have a better understanding of this stuff? I don't study psychology, but I do find this stuff fascinating, but I also know that results can be overblown and that my desire to observe interesting phenomena can override my sense.

This is a great use of priming! The fact that the effects last for so long even under double-blind conditions is amazing! I am wondering about why the male grades dropped in the standard class, but if I had to guess it would be on a curve and the men's grades would drop because the top students wouldn't get the benefit of the strong curve created by having lower female grades. still, curious!
