I consider myself a fan of both, and this is great. Even though I got most of them right, the juxtaposition is good. The deluge of references and muddy rhyme schemes are surprisingly similar.

The juxtaposition calls attention to the musicality of Joyce's language, which is something often overlooked in literature (particularly prose), at least among those who don't think to look for it. I was always struck by the sonic qualities of the last sentence of Joyce's "The Dead." Spoiler alert, I guess:His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.
