For those unfamiliar, Apfelwein is similar to hard cider but is drier, less sweet, and slightly more alcoholic (6%). The credit definitely goes to the user "EdWort" from this thread on Homebrewtalk.com.
I feel accomplished, yet it was barely any work. All I did was sanitize equipment and mix the ingredients. The hardest part will definitely be waiting. In fact, I'm still waiting for my first batch of Irish Stout to carbonate in the bottles. If anyone is interested in making some Apfelwein, definitely check out the thread that was previously posted. You can definitely pull off making some without breaking the bank. I will let you know how mine turns out in a few months. :)
Use honey instead of sugar and you've got a cyser (apple mead), also very nice. Cinnamon is a nice spice addition too. If you can wait a year or more, you will be rewarded. Try to save at least some for that long, if you can.
Sounds like you have quite the experience! I'll definitely give those a try at some point. The honey addition especially sounds right up my alley, thanks! The wait will be rough..
