I disagree. UNESCO might not be a powerful branch of the UN, but this is a significant development for Palestinians. At the very least, it represents a shift in strategy where the US doesn't play navigator on their path to statehood.
I don't see this as news about UNESCO. I see this as news about the US/Palestinian relationship. I think it is significant in that sense.
