The REAL problem is the fact that there's so much cross over between 'politics' and science. There's so much conflict between us as humans, it's inhibiting our ability as a species to move forward with science.

The problem is that for a politician, which would get the most votes, being the politician that keeps the prosperity stagnant, or the politician that "improved" the economy?

we need to use better metrics than GDP and growth to talk about how good an economy is. I propose GINI score and Homocide rate.
