The article makes the point that stopping automated systems is problematic as there are other applications, such as transport. I support automated transport, but I can't help but step back and marvel at our truly astonishing ability to weaponize almost anything. Sometimes I think that wars, if they must be fought, should be fought without projectile weaponry at all, of any kind. I can't help but think if humans still had to engage each other with spears and clubs that we might try to avoid such situations, or put pressure on people that have the authority to declare war to try other tactics, before sending hordes of young people to confront each other in direct conflict. War is a horrible thing, and if people are willing to send others to faraway places to kill people they've never met, why not make it as horrible and in-your-face as possible, instead of some kind of detached, clinical thing that happens to other people?
