We could, but I think @eightballsamurai's intention was to have a genre-wise separation so that people with different interests have different threads to follow. Forgive me if I got the wrong idea.
im aware of that, but as you said so in your own post, most bands blur genres.
Yeah, one option would be to go easy on the avoidable 'but these guys aren't punk at all' comments. We could also look at having playlists sorted by other criteria - just riffing here - night-time music, general psychedelia, etc. This works best with playlists and not albums, though. I concede that. Anyway, I realise that option 2 is not mutually exclusive to what has already been suggested, there's no reason why we can't have both.
what do you propose?Anyway, I realise that option 2 is not mutually exclusive to what has already been suggested, there's no reason why we can't have both.
I suggest we have broader classifications. Again, just an idea. As an example, in the beginning, instead of restricting ourselves to post-punk, we could have punk and related sub-genres. These could include, say, post-punk, goth rock, and noise rock. It is up to us how wide we want to cast the net. If there is a clamour for further segregation, we could do it later. As for the playlists suggestion, another idea for another hasthtag, I suppose.
Great! I'd love to host. Just putting it out there.
