When I was teaching college in the late 1980s, I had students who would say: "I was born between Sgt. Pepper's and Abbey Road. A decade later, I had students who said, "I was born between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. I am still teaching - but I have never again heard this kind of reference. Star Wars was so monumental, kids used it to date themselves.
