I can remember seeing my great grandmother eating a chicken paw. It was very disturbing to me as a kid. She loved them.
The beef industry has also seen greater profitability from the marketing of once "unsellable" parts of the cow. They take parts of the muscle groups that were once thought uneatable and tenderize the crap out of them and give them names like "bistro tender" and sell them for $6 a pound. What the fucks a bistro tender? It's a piece of meet that has been jaccarded 50 times to break up all the connective tissue. People buy it because it doesn't have any of that "nasty marbling".. it's all bright red. -idiots.
