If you are a hockey fan, you'll enjoy going through this list. I definitely have some disputes with it. Most notably that Nick Lindstrom isn't on it. Also, I think Sid is ranked a bit too high (at this point). I think Gordie should have been #2 though:
Gordie Howe played for 26 seasons and scored over 70 points in 21 straight seasons. No one in hockey can match that stat. He won Stanley Cups and he won scoring titles. He even played with his sons, on the same team! And he was better then them!
Gretzky took the #99 because he said he would be twice as good as Howe (#9) He may not have been "twice as good" but he was undoubtably the best. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone in professional sports that has so obviously dominated their sport at a level so far above their counterparts.
Jordan had to contend with Magic, Dominique, Isiah, Larry etc as contemporaries. The closets Gretzky had was Lemieux.

Crosby may be a polarizing figure but there is little doubt, he's a gifted player.

I'm no Crosby fan but the "kid" is good. I also think Datsyuk is one of the most underrated players in sports. The guy is a wizard.
This list is retarded. Mikita is the only European in the top 25 players of all time? That's just the Canadian media being the Canadian media. First of all, Lidstrom is one of the top 5 players in the history of hockey, not top 25 (I would put only Orr, 99 and Lemieux ahead). Luc Robataille and Ron Francis couldn't hold Jagr's stick for him, and neither is Datsyuk caliber for that matter, even though he won't end up with the career numbers that either had. Leaving Jagr and Lidstrom (and perhaps Hasek) off this list kills its credibility.

I thought that Francis and Robataille were a stretch. I mean Robataille was just "lucky", it's in his name for cryin out loud. Hasek wasn't just great, he was great to watch. Most entertaining goalie in net. And if my days of EA Sports NHL'ing are any indication of greatness (and they are) Jagr should be on that list!

oh, they were great, make no mistake.
You're just pissed that Germany always beat Ireland in our FIFA days.
