I'd be completely fine with this if they changed their name to reflect their programming.

Agreed. To have a show like "alligator hunters in Louisiana" on "The History Channel" is bizarre. The channel exists in it's current form so that people can say, "I hardly watch anything except for CNN and the History Channel" and think that makes them well informed.
