Well, there are aspects of the video that I believe represent the ongoing trend towards greater individual and collective knowledge. Will we actually have a plug stuck in our neck at some point that transfers all of our personal computer data and cloud data into our brains? Probably not. It will probably be done in a much less invasive way. It might just be done wirelessly once you have nanotechnology built into your body and brain (the nanotech could just be injected or swallowed in a pill form or something harmless like that). Ya, I think this is the key. Although I'd say that we would be able to download all the information. Knowledge (IMO) is something different. I loved the first Matrix as a kid (and still do). I'm not a big fan of 2 and 3. In terms of sci-fi movies I'm really not the person to ask - I love science fiction but haven't found any good transhuman sci-fi lately. My favourite movies this year were both "sci-fi": Gravity and Europa Report... but neither of those films involve transhumanism. I wish more films would. I'm looking forward to a movie about artificial general intelligence: The Machine. thenewgreen, unfortunately, I don't think I can suggest any as there don't seem to be many at all. At least not on my out dated movie radar. I do think there are some movies that touch upon aspects of the process of transhumanism that are worth watching, for not only the transhumanist aspects but also because they are just incredibly constructed stories. 2001: A Space Odyssey tops my list. Have you watched it yet? And if reading is something you are willing to do, or audio book listening, I also would suggest reading anything by Isaac Asimov. Again, not officially transhumanist stuff, but still very interesting. Also, I find hidden gems in old radio episodes of the X-Minus One series. Again...not specifically transhumanist topics, but a really great sci-fi series to experience.

-Absolutely, a wonderful film. I was just racing this Brainpickings post about Kubrick that you may find interesting. As for Asimov, the only bit of his I've read is The Last Question, which user92 posted a while back. I really enjoyed it.
