Nailed me as a Detroiter (Metro-Detroiter to be exact). I'd be interested to see how accurate this is for others around the United States. I now know that I'd find myself also dialectic-ally comfortable in the not so very exotic land of Toledo, Ohio or Aurora, Illinois.

It determined that I'm from the metro Boston region. I'm surprised that water fountains are only referred to as "bubblers" in two small regions in the US.

"Bubblers" huh? Never heard of them referred that way here in the Detroit area. Do know that "bubblers" are used by here by folks to keep their big boats sitting in the water dockside all winter. Bubblers are used to created moving water under a boat to keep ice from forming around the boats hull.

Yep. But, a bubbler can also be a hot tub or a small water pipe, as b_b mentions. Ah well . . .

I've only ever heard of a bubbler as being a minature water bong.

Yeah, bubblers have always meant a hand held water pipe to me. Hand blown glass bubblers were things of pride in college.
