Seems to me this is the best question this article raises. Thoughts? I consider the astronauts who have left Earth's orbit to be some of the bravest people who ever lived, and in no way was the reward they were given compensatory for the danger they were in and the importance they had. Disciplining them for profiting off of a great act is out of line.Astronauts were not supposed to cash in on their missions.
I agree that not allowing them to profit from their experience is wrong but having them turn the actual experience in to one that revolves, in any way, around personal profiteering would be dangerous for all involved. What do you think of the sculpture "Fallen Astronaut?" I though it uninspiring, surely the moons first ever piece of art could be better than this...!
