"It tells you to stop in the only way it knows how. Then it dies."
I didn't expect for this article to be my favorite read of the day, suffice to say.
I was going to write something 'deep' along the lines of 'if you want to see more light in the world you must battle darkness' but the whole thing is just sad. If cops get jaded and angry after years of dealing with human garbage, I can't imagine what a full career in social work would do to you.
The really sad thing is the people drawn to social work are the ones who needed a social worker at some point in their past. The rates are shit, they're unappreciated and they're essentially powerless… yet the line stretches around the block for people wanting the gig. I made more hourly as a 3rd-year undergrad mechanical engineering intern than my GF did with a cum laude degree from the best MSW program in the United States. The people doing that gig? They really want to do that gig.
Oh my. You have no idea how hard I've been laughing at this. Just sitting in my room with the door closed, hysterically laughing at parts of this. Why is this so funny.
Is the narration from the video in the article made just for the video or is it from something? It's beautiful. That was awesome.
