Two words you don't normally see together: "Canadian" and "porn"
According to the article, Brazzers is HQ'd in Montreal. -They're the Cadillac of porn (or whatever the Canadian luxury automobile is... of porn.) For his wedding party, my brother gifted us each a subscription to Brazzers. If you've met my brother this will make perfect sense. b_b, you can take a page out of his book for your groomsmen.
I work at this company in Montreal. One of the reasons why we don't shoot porn in Montreal is because it is a closed market. Meaning, it would be difficult for us to do without running into problems with the mafia, because most of the girls would be affiliated with organized crime, or would lie about it. It has been said that today, organized crime in North America is Montreal. It simply doesn't compare in New York or Chicago like it used to back in the day. This is a bullshit reason however. Companies shoot porn in Montreal all the time. It's more of a 'don't shit where you eat' attitude, where they'd prefer to keep the nastiness away from the pristine, corporate office. Most of the shooting is done in LA.
I can't wait to tell my brother I know someone at Brazzers :) Most media companies are HQ'd intentionally near the "shit" so the "Don't shit where you eat" thing is unusual for the entertainment industry, no?
They do have offices in LA too, and also all over the world to maximize profits and pay the least tax. When it comes to traditional porn companies though, there is nothing usual about this company. Simply put, they are corporate sharks and are held in a controversial light within the industry for being that way. The company is larger than just Brazzers they own several dozen companies, several tube sites and manage Playboy.com. :)
