Im just now discovering how awesome some of these can be. Some of my favorites so far are Interstella 5555, Scenes from the Suburbs by Arcade Fire
I haven't seen it, but I've been meaning to someday watch the Wilco documentary "I am trying to break your heart". Apparently it's on youtube.
I've been trying to brainstorm stuff all evening, and the only thing I could think of that's a full movie is Interstella 5555. I've definitely seen artists do several music vids from an album that's sort of a mini story - but not a full movie...
Does Sgt. Pepper count? Or The Wall? And Childish Gambino's got a script that goes along with his album Because the Internet. Not sure if the film has been released, but you can read the whole script from top to bottom with clips, while also listening to the album at the necessary points, here.
I've been meaning to get to that script from Gambino, thanks. Do you have any thoughts on Because the Internet? Seems to be hit or miss for a lot of people I've talked to.
I've never seen "Scenes From the Suburbs," thanks for that!
Don't understand how its so unpopular considering how much of a success that album was for them.
