B_C - that's such great news.

It's fascinating to glance at the 101 responses that your earlier post generated. Anyone struggling with depression and difficulties (including myself) would be wise to see what 411 days can do.

You're in the middle of moving, so you might not have much time to write -- but it would be really valuable to me to hear more about how you turned yourself around.

I would love to write you. My pen pal actually never got back to me after I wrote the first time. Would you want to be my pen pal?

Blob - if you want to write snail mail, I will send postcards. I will dig out all my jazz postcards. Yes, I have jazz postcards -- well, at least one.

I invented a game called postcard challenge.

I'll explain in due course. I'll go first.

Send address in portland via pm. I'm in the USA for two weeks and will use US mail.

I would like to know what postcard challenge is.

Postcards have images.

Postcards can also be collaged with cardboard and pictures.

I had amazing creative friends who would respond to my challenge with a postcard and a challenge to me. It would go back and forth. In one case we did this from 1990, when I met him, till 1996 or so.

The challenges could be anything. For example, something obvious: "Send me a postcard with a scene from your town."

Or something more difficult: "send a postcard of a game that has not yet been invented." At the bottom of each response would be something like this:

Your Challenge: Clown Murder.

or

Your Challenge: Dr. Seuss

If you live in a city with an arty district, there are or used to be stores that carry the most amazing real postcards. Only rarely would we construct one. One note: the link between the image on the postcard and the challenge can be very very thin - but the message would somehow explain it.

I have a box of these postcards from the 1990s. Unfortunately, I only have one side of the game. My smart friend used to photocopy both sides of his card before mailing it.

It is almost 25 years later and he has had two children and several moves since then. I wonder if the cards still exist. Maybe I'll send him a postcard asking.

Wanna play?

Will do. I'll be there the 25th and we haven't figured out housing yet, but I have faith we'll figure it out.
